Can I actually run my own node on the ASI:Chain Public DevNet, or is it just a sandbox UI thing?

I’m more of an infra / protocol person than a pure dApp dev. Before I invest time, I want to know if DevNet lets me spin up real validator or observer nodes, tweak parameters, and test monitoring setups or if it’s mostly about playing with contracts in the browser.

On the Public DevNet, you can absolutely run your own nodes. It’s the entry point into the ASI:Chain validator ecosystem. You can spin up a validator node and participate directly in the consensus process, or join as an observer for read-only access and indexing. DevNet also lets you experiment with parameters like payload size, block time, and fees, and test different deployment and monitoring setups. It’s deliberately designed as a safe place to refine tooling, automation, and observability against a live AI-native chain before TestNet and MainNet go live.
