How does ASI:Chain’s shard architecture actually work?

I read that ASI:Chain uses “differentiated shards.” How do shards function, and why not just one global chain like other projects?

ASI:Chain uses a sharded architecture so each shard can specialize for different needs.
A shard handling high-frequency trading might prioritize speed, while another focused on AI reasoning might emphasize verifiability and consistency.
Each shard can run its own consensus mechanism — the DevNet shard uses CBC Casper, while future shards may use Cassanova or Cordial Miners.
This flexibility allows the network to support many domains — finance, IoT, AI compute — all interoperating across a unified ecosystem.
